Menaggio is situated in the centre-western part of Lake Como, right at the confluence of the road to Lake Lugano and, thanks to its central position between lake and mountains is an ideal starting point for any type of excursion. With its panoramic position and the ever pleasant climate, it is a holiday resort that has been renowned for over a century, as evidenced by the numerous villas in the area. The lakeside is very nice.
Unfortunately, only medieval walls and buildings and the surviving Romanesque parish church of St. Stephen remain, but it is the values and tradition that live forever. The village itself is described to us, in the upper part of the city, with cobbled narrow streets and houses narrowed together. The medieval structure of the village disappears as you approach the shores of Lake Como, embellished by hotels, villas, beaches and walks.
